Happy Wanderers Paphos

The Happy Wanderers Paphos walking group was formed in 1995 in order to provide regular organised walks for walkers of all capabilities.

Our group offers walks every Wednesday to our members, guests and visitors throughout the year. During the winter season, October to May, walks start in the morning. In the summer, June to September, we organise late afternoon walks to avoid the high daytime temperatures. Each week we arrange a short, medium and a long walk so that walkers can choose which walk they wish to do based on their level of fitness and ability.

Our approximately 140 members consist of permanent residents and regular visitors to the island who are able to commit to walking a minimum of 10 walks through the year. Anyone wishing to walk as a Guest walker should contact us on for more details.

Our Walks Coordinator at our planning meetings thrice a year schedules walks. All members are encouraged to participate in the organisation of the three weekly walks. Walk leaders are responsible for planning and reconnoitring the routes to ensure they are suitable. Walk leader training is arranged on a regular basis for all interested in organising and leading walks.

The area walked covers the whole of the Paphos district and adjacent parts of Limassol district. During the year excursions are enjoyed to other parts of the Island from Karpasia to Limnitis in Northern Cyprus and Cape Greco to the Akamas in the South. More details of the walking areas can be found in our Walk Programme Page.

We also have various social activities during the year that provide a platform for all our members and their partners (if not walkers) to meet socially.

We welcome new members irrespective of your ability, as our aim is to encourage people to experience the outdoors and explore all that Cyprus has to offer.
